High Strength Steel Design course

This Steel Construction Institute (SCI) course will introduce engineers to the design of structures made from high strength steel (HSS). It will lead designers through the stages of specification, design and execution for structures made of steels with strengths from S460 up to S700, in accordance with European product, design and execution standards. IMOA supports the work SCI does on HSS and part-funded the publication High Strength Steel Design and Execution Guide, upon which this course is based.

AMPP Annual Conference

IMOA’s Technical Director, Nicole Kinsman, is chairing the annual Symposium Recent Experiences With Austenitic and Duplex Stainless Steels and vice-chairing the TC11 Technical Exchange on Stainless Steels, both held at the AMPP Conference on Thursday 19 March 2026 in Houston. The symposium, a fixture of the AMPP Conference program, explores the performance of austenitic and duplex stainless steels across a wide range of industries and provides experts a platform for formal presentations with peer reviewed papers. The technical exchange session offers interactive discussions, updates on standards and emerging applications, practical case studies, lessons learned, fabrication experiences, and challenging failure cases where the community can share insight and solutions.
