Production

The production statistics in the graph above are based on reported figures and IMOA's estimates. They are the sum of new molybdenum from mine production and material recovered from spent catalysts.

Use

Figures for use of molybdenum are based on industry estimates and from 2009 are derived by IMOA's consultants, Steel & Metals Market Research (SMR), Austria. 

The underlying production and use data are available in the member section of the IMOA website.

IMOA welcomes new members: Sierra Gorda S.C.M., a copper molybdenum project currently under construction in the Atacama Desert of northern Chile.  Production is expected to commence in 2014.
